Seemingly everyone likes things to be tidy if not down-right pretty. An elegant or beautiful application adds an incredible amount to the functionality. Of course there are exceptions to this rule like CraigsList and Ebay, but these two are outliers of epic proportions.
Usability can be synonymous with the elegance and beauty of an application, As it turns out, beauty is something that can make or break a startup. Even a well-heeled one.
Our client understands this all too well and as such, they have built an environment around their application that is both beautiful to look at AND easy to use. That’s all well and good, but guess what – even though you know what I am going to say, I am going to say it anyways – pizza rolls taste delicious. I know they’re not the best for you, but they just taste so darn good. You thought I was going to say something about how our client is expanding, adding features, and building new technology so they need new/continuing UX to go with their growth, didn’t you? Yeah, I talked about Pizza Rolls instead. … see what I did there? 😉
Keywords all in a list!! Sometimes annoying, and, in this case, not “pretty” but certainly functional! JSP, UX, Greenfield, opportunity, collaboration, shipping code, front-end, ideas, awesome, cool, bagels, pizza on a bagel. I must need lunch or something, because I keep bringing up pizza. Ok, I’ll try to hold off for a minute.
We’re looking for someone who loves to play on the front end of the Java realm, has cool ideas on Best Practices, and has shipped some code for a popular consumer product. It would be awesome if you can speak intelligently about the experience to our client, your fellow developers, the investors and The Board. Also, the usual list of “plays nicely with others”, “loves coding” and then, the Pièce de résistance, you should value having a true work/life balance.
I don’t just write silly job descriptions, I have more skills and jobs than that. My main job is to find top quality people who fit a job description and a work environment for my clients. My writing silly job descriptions is a perk of my job.
If what I’ve been talking about above describes you, then you should hit me up with questions or ideas. I would love to hear from you by email (since we need your resume) and understand why you’re great for this position. Throw in a description of your favorite meal from your favorite restaurant. See, I was able to forgo the food talk until just now. We did good, you should be proud.
Please send all this to patty at technicalintegrity dot com so she can ring you regarding next steps.
You can find out more about the Technical Integrity team on our site and how we give back to the developer community and to non-profits, nationwide. You should also look at out blog so you can check out our other silly job descriptions.
